How to Install an EA on MT5 Mobile 2026 Step-by-Step Guide — Android iOS Exness Senior Algo Pro Setup | PMotive

How to Install an EA on MT5 Mobile in 2026: Android, iPhone & VPS Setup

Want to use an Expert Advisor while monitoring MetaTrader 5 from your phone? The key point is that the Android and iPhone MT5 apps do not run EX5 Expert Advisor files locally. The EA must run on a Windows MT5 desktop terminal or compatible VPS, while your phone logs into the same trading account for monitoring and trade management.

This guide shows the correct 2026 setup from start to finish.

How MT5 mobile EA trading actually works

The normal setup is:

MT5 desktop or VPS running the EA → broker trading account → MT5 mobile app monitoring the same account.

Your phone can show balance, equity, open positions, pending orders and account history. The EA itself continues running on the Windows terminal or VPS.

Step 1: Install MetaTrader 5 on Windows or a compatible VPS

Download and install the desktop version of MetaTrader 5 supplied by your broker or from the official MetaTrader source. If you need the EA to keep running when your own computer is off, use a compatible Windows VPS and install MT5 there.

Step 2: Log into the trading account you will also use on mobile

Open MT5 desktop and sign into the intended broker account. Confirm the account number, server and account type before installing any Expert Advisor.

Step 3: Copy the EA file into the MT5 Experts folder

  1. In MT5 desktop, select File → Open Data Folder.
  2. Open MQL5 → Experts.
  3. Copy the EA's EX5 file into the Experts folder.
  4. Return to MT5 and refresh the Expert Advisors section in Navigator, or restart MT5.

Step 4: Open the correct market and timeframe

Open the chart required by the EA. Broker symbols can vary—for example, Gold might appear as XAUUSD, XAUUSDm or another broker-specific variation. US30 and synthetic-index symbols can also differ. Follow the product's setup requirements rather than assuming every EA uses the same chart or timeframe.

Step 5: Enable algorithmic trading

Enable algorithmic trading in MT5 and make sure the EA's permissions allow it to operate as intended. Review the Experts and Journal tabs for permission errors or setup warnings.

Step 6: Attach the EA and configure its inputs

Drag the EA onto the intended chart, review its inputs carefully and load any supplied SET file only when it matches the product, symbol and intended setup. Do not increase lot size or disable risk controls simply to force trades.

Step 7: Test on demo before using live funds

Confirm that the EA loads correctly, that the intended symbol and timeframe are selected and that there are no errors in the Experts or Journal tabs. Demo execution can differ from live trading because spreads, slippage, liquidity and broker conditions can change.

Step 8: Install MT5 mobile and log into the same account

Install MT5 on Android or iPhone and sign into the same broker account that is running on the desktop terminal or VPS. You can then monitor positions, balance, equity and history from your phone while the EA continues running remotely.

The mobile-first setup: iPhone, iPad, Android + Remote Desktop + VPS

If your phone or tablet is your main trading device, the practical setup is to keep the EA running inside desktop MetaTrader on a Windows VPS and connect to that VPS when you need full desktop access.

  1. Host MT5 and the EA on the VPS. The trading robot continues running there while the Windows VPS and MetaTrader terminal remain online.
  2. Install a compatible Remote Desktop client on your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet. Use it to open the VPS desktop and access the full MetaTrader terminal remotely.
  3. Use the MT5 mobile app for account monitoring. You can check positions, balance, equity and history from the same broker account.
  4. Your phone does not need to remain on. Closing Remote Desktop or turning off the phone does not stop the EA because the EA is running on the VPS, not on the mobile device.

Important: this is a VPS workaround for mobile-first traders. The standard MT5 iOS and Android apps do not execute EX5 Expert Advisor files locally.

Do you need a VPS?

A VPS is not required simply to open the MT5 mobile app. It becomes useful when you want the desktop MT5 terminal and EA to remain online without depending on your personal computer. PMotive does not currently sell a standalone VPS product, so choose a reputable Windows VPS provider that meets your broker and latency requirements if you need continuous hosting.

Common MT5 mobile EA problems

The EA is not visible on my phone

That is normal. MT5 mobile does not show the desktop Experts folder or allow you to attach EX5 files locally.

The EA stops when my PC closes

If the EA is running on your PC, shutting down the computer or MT5 stops the EA. Move the MT5 desktop terminal to a compatible VPS if you need it to remain online.

The EA is attached but does not trade

Check the symbol, timeframe, trading permissions, spread/session filters, lot-size rules and the Experts/Journal tabs. No trade does not automatically mean the software is faulty; its entry conditions may not have occurred.

My broker uses a different symbol name

Select the broker's actual symbol and follow the product's compatibility guidance. Contract size, spread and trading hours can also differ between brokers.

Choose an EA that matches your market

Bottom line

You cannot install an EX5 Expert Advisor directly inside the MT5 Android or iPhone app. The correct setup is to run the EA on MT5 desktop or a compatible Windows VPS, then monitor the same account through MT5 mobile.
